As someone who is trying to 100% all gen 3 Living Dexes. FR/LG, R/S/E, Colosseum &amp; XD I can 100% CONFIRM this. Out of the 816 total Pokemon (including all future evolutions) all I’m missing is emerald (1 chikorita - 3 Cyndaquil cause Hisuian typhlosion - and 2 Totadiles) XD - (1 more Cyndaquil for Hisui) and 3 more Surfing Pichus from Pokemon Box. 😅

IIRC the number of Celebi that could be dispensed was 48, but it could not be to the same gba save multiple times. To get another you&#39;d have to restart the game or buy a new copy. If you ran out of those 48 somehow, you&#39;d have to delete your colloseum save and re purify everything to get more as the number dispensed and which game are you they were dispensed to was saved in that game&#39;s save data.

At that point, it&#39;s just easier to cheat. Use an Action Replay, spawn in the Mons you need. Catch the rest legit

I think I recall checking how many Pokémon I had been able to obtain without ever trading in my copy of FireRed (while waiting to meet a friend in person to get version-exclusives from Kanto or Sevii Islands, and anything Johto/Hoenn that was missing), and I think the number I had found was 165. So not even half of them all.

On the gen 3 cannot connect to gen 2 thing, you can if you are mad enough to be the guy that made a device that allows you to trade between gens 1-2 and 3.

This brings back so much pain, FireRed and emerald was my favorite when I was a kid didn&#39;t have a game cube then played emerald and FireRed three times each traded for exclusive with friends and knew a guy with action replay to get mythicals

I think its fascinating that as difficult and obscure it is, getting the full Johto dex is actually wholly possible today down to the mythical. More than what other gens can say

And this is why I was so happy to see, when Sword&amp;Shield came out, that they cut off some Pokémon. The whole &quot;Bring Back National Dex&quot; tantrum was so stupid. Having a Dex where ALL Pokémon are obtainable WITHIN this game (or generation) was so refreshing that it was actually the first time ever that I completed a &quot;National Dex&quot;.
