This is a real issue that causes real damages today, but it’s also an issue that a lot of people put a great deal of thought, effort, and ultimately resources into so that we can strike a balance between protection against damage to property and the environment and obtaining the resources that we all depend on. Grady have you ever done a detailed video on how some of those VERY LARGE sink holes (the ones that eat houses) are filled in so structures can be rebuilt on the sink hole site??

Wouldn't a reasonably simple and Not TOOOOOO expensive solution be to fill the mine with random debris, dirt and rubble once you're done with that section of it?

i wonder if during backfilling room and pillar mines they take out the pillars as they are made of valuable minerals

Don't expect anyone who votes for reform to be able to think.

I live in Wharton NJ, the roads are still closed. All through my complex, which is less than a quarter mile from the holes, pipes for water and gas are bursting, and there's cracks in the walls.

Canadian Potash miner here. We still use Room and Pillar mining, but our neighboring and competing mine used Chevron mining. They overmined and caused a 40 year flood that eventually caused the loss of their mine

14:40 "and now its a lot better" the city where the mud-wizard clip happened, which was a recording of an anti-mining protest, is now square in the middle of a massive pitmine. For coal.
