9/20/2026Imagine if he just completely leaves political discussion, and plays games with his girlfriend, or himself. Just give him a good game where he can forget everything else. THAT is endgame, and peak for Asmongold.

9/20/2026Common WoW looting systems:
* Automated Roll: Greed vs Need, done by UI, the standard you see on screen when something drops.
Completely transparent, pure RNG but you don't know if the one who wins will benefit the group
* Manual Roll: Based on a pre-established criteria, usually Main Spec > Off Spec > Other (like xmog or an off spec you don't use while raiding), you /roll in chat.
Semi-transparent, you need your loot master to know that a 2 handed-axe with a rage bonus is not useful for your Prot Warrior tank, and he's gonna use it for his off-spec.
Also pure RNG (so if you are me, you will be the last one to get gear, but when everyone else is at 70-80% you'll get everything at once (*))
* Loot Council: Usually officers and raid leader decide who the item goes to, for the benefit of the whole raid group.
But often enough it reverts to "my friends get the loot"
* DKP (Dragon Kill Points): By being on time, not missing raids, being the best on your role, or any other criteria defined by the group, you earn DKP. When I item drops, those who can use it bid their DKPs. If they win, they spend those DKPs, and their "wallet" is far thinner when the next item drops, unless they got it cheap because they were the only ones bidding. Its potential problems are:
#1 Book-keeping needs to be extremely transparent, it's easy to fumble the numbers, even on accident
#2 And if you're having a criteria to earn points other than attendance, you need to be sure it's balanced. For instance, a tank or a healer will never be top-DPS, so they don't have a chance to get those points. On the other hand, there are up to 7 DPS for every 1-2 healers and 1 tank, do DPS weapons will be more expensive (provided the pool of DPS classes is evenly distributed, if you have 11 warrior/pally, 1 rogue, 1 enh shammy, and 1 hunter, agility melee weapons will be cheap AF, compared to big-ass hammers and swords).
* GDKP (Gold DKP): Instead of earning points, you just bid gold. That gold is then usually redistributed evenly among all atendees (sometimes a % of it goes to the guild bank for repairs and stuff like that). So let's say it's a 20-M raid, and everyone happens to have 500g to spend on loot. You "buy" a chest piece with 300g via GDKP, everyone gets 15g. That means when the pants drop, 2 bosses later, you are 285g poorer (you have 215 left), and everyone else is 15g welthier (515), you are not likely to win them. On paper is one of the best systems, but GDKP has 2 problems:
#1 Server economy. I can P2W by buying gold from farmers with IRL money, or WoW tokens. Or even worse, back in WoD, by spending stupid amounts of time in my garrison.
#2 And since the nature of the system is transactional, it's likely that some/many raiders will stop attending once they bought their gear. This wouldn't be an issue if 90% of raiders weren't so useless they need an addon to tell them to not stand on the fire (GTFO), leaving those who are good, but don't have time to farm the garrison, or IRL money to spend in gold, having to deal with endless runs surrounded by ungeared useless people just to be able to afford their deserved loot. It can also create resentment and frustration when someone who is crearly bad gets all the loot, making people leave.

* Socially, Loot Council is the best method. But it's social, so corruption, jealousy and bias are also factors.
* As for the fairest, transparent RNG is chance, so by definition it's fair, but it's not necessarily the most benefitial
* If the system is properly built, DKP is one of the best balanced considering fairness and overall benefit, and it also rewards best players the most, as if you can keep up with the rest while not spending points, you can skip minor upgrades and wait for that big expensive item(*2)
* GDKP is the close second, and it works with more flexible groups

(*) Saddest part is that I usually outperformed most of the ones at 70-80%, when I was at 0-15%, while doing mechanics that prevented me from doing DPS (like soaking 2 insta-kill mechanics with Retaliation+Readiness+Retaliation/2 charges of Apsect of the Turtle, and I had to do 2 myself, because those I was outperforming would also fail the mechanic and wipe us) and destroyed them once I got my loot
(*2) What I described above is why we moved from DKP to Manual Roll: As Hunter I had no competition for weapons once the extra weapon slot was removed, so I would biuld up DKP and go straight for the trinkets with no competition, as everyone else had spent their DKP in armor, or at best fighting for weapons.

9/20/2026I feel like I need to get back into Wow now. I missed all the waves of classic servers and fresh starts, didnt want to start now since most people already progressed.

Now there is this new release focusing on leveling and figuring new mechanics out, its not min maxxed to hell like all other versions. Ive always enjoyed the journey more than grinding endgame every patch, thats what got me so into wow decades ago.

I need to try out the game again, this looks so fun. How is it going for you guys so far?

9/20/2026GDKP is an L system. If everyone is doing the same raid they should all have a fair shot at the gear. Why should anyone have an advantage to the loot based off the amount of time they spend on farming outside of raid and/or how much gold they buy? Plus all the money going to the raid leader is just dumb and hilarious.
@sasaradetic2202
9/20/2026You should all move to Guild Wars 2
And spread some love.
Hahahaha....
